Although, I'm already participating in Make Me Read It, when I saw that round 4 of Tome Topple was going down this week, I just had to get in on the action. It's now official that I am obsessed with readathons. Tome Topple is a two week readathon in which readers challenge themselves to read books with over 500 pages.
Tome Topple was created by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. Round 4 starts midnight on August 4th until August 17th. You can read physical books, ebooks or even listen to audio books.
Reading Challenges
There are 5 reading challenges for Tome Topple. All of the reading challenges are completely optional as the main goal of Tome Topple is just to read a book or books over 500 pages. The reading challenges are:
- Read more than 1 tome
- Read a graphic novel
- Read a tome that is part of a series
- Buddy read a tome
- Read an adult novel
What I'm Reading For Tome Topple Round 4
For this round of Tome Topple, I am going to be attempting to complete 4 of the 5 reading challenges. I would have aimed for all 5, but I haven't found anyone yet to buddy read with. Of course that could change by the end of the week. If you're doing Tome Topple and reading any of the following books below and want to be my reading buddy just let me know in the comments.
- A Court of Mist and Fury | I am completely smitten with Maas' ACTAR series! I'm re-reading ACOMAF so that I can go into ACOWAR with a fresh mind. This will serve as my read for the Read A Tome That Is Part Of A Series challenge.
- A Court of Wings and Ruin | 3 months. That's how long I've been waiting for the opportunity to finally settle down and read ACOWAR. I can't wait to see how Feyre's story is going to end. I've been avoiding any and all reviews of this book like the plague. I'm reading this for the Read More Than 1 Tome challenge.
- The Resurrection of Joan Ashby | I wasn't able to attend BookCon this year, but thankfully the lovely folks from Flatiron Books decided to send me a box of books. This was one of the books inside. I'm excited to read this book because it's about a woman and her struggle to balance while trying not to lose herself or her dreams to being a mom and wife. As both a mom and a wife who is building a career in writing and the online retail space, I know that there are going to be lots about Joan's story that I will be able to relate to. This will be my Read An Adult Novel challenge book.
- InuYasha 1-3 | While short story bindups are not allowed for Tome Topple, one of the co-hosts said that bindups for the graphic novel challenge was fine since there aren't a ton of graphic novels over 500 pages available. I searched my current library high and low for a graphic novel bindup before learning that my library prefers to offer the individual books instead of bindups. That said, I picked up InuYasha graph novels 1-3 which total up to over 500 pages. Times like these I miss living close to a book store, but I'm making due with what I have.

What's the longest book you've ever read?
I absolutely loveeee the ACOTAR series. I hope you enjoy it! I'm in love with Cassian who you will meet in ACOMAF. You picked some great books! Hope you do well with them <3
ReplyDeleteLovely list of books here and I really hope that you manage to meet your goals!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Books over 500 pages can sometimes be intimidating, so it's good to have a little extra motivation for them!

I love your choices, ACOMAF & ACOWAR are huge books but binge-reading them is definitely the way to get through them.
ReplyDeleteAlso ACOMAF was just an amazing follow up to ACOTAR. I did the exact same thing with ACOMAF, reread with Wings & Ruin, desperately searching for clues as to what would happen!
Great list and happy reading!
xo.
