Friday Five Currently | Week 10
Currently . . .
Watching | The kids recently discovered some old Disney shows from my childhood. That’s been one of the good things about getting rid of cable for YouTube TV. They have an extensive backlist of old shows. Anyways, it’s been fun taking walk down memory lane and being able to share something from my childhood with them.
Surprisingly, they love those shows more than a lot of the current shows currently on Disney. Among their favorites are Proud Family, Shake It Up, and Hannah Montana. I wish they had the Famous Jett Jackson on there. (RIP to Lee Thompson Young) I think that was the first Disney original show where the main character was Black, but don’t quote me on this.
Wishing | BookNet Fest is going down this weekend and I’m bummed that I’m missing it for the second year in a row. Last year, I found out about it too late. This year none of my family members could accompany me to watch the kids while I went to the panels because I’m not sure if this event is exactly kid-friendly.
Also, thanks to some changes and upcoming changes, my bank account was like “It’s a no-go boo.” I really have to watch where my coins are going these days and paying for gas, fast food, and a hotel room is something I couldn’t afford to swing this month. I’m having a good time seeing other people tweet and Instagram about it though and am looking forward to the wrap-up videos that are sure to hit YouTube next week.
I am setting aside money though so that I can attend next year. Third time is the charm they say.
Hopefully this season starts off good and I won’t lose interest. I’m also stoked about buddy watching it with my sister because she totally gets my nerdiness and why things like buddy watching and buddy reading are cool to me. Everyone needs a baby sister as cool as mine.
I have kind of fallen in love with this one car, but I’m keeping an open mind.
I’ve been thinking about getting some braids or mini twists for Fall.
Have a great weekend y’all. I’m hoping to finish up a book or two from my September TBR.
